Rae Fielding

I am a bright and bubbly person who has a genuine passion for education, literature and philosophy! At the moment, I am studying a PhD in Philosophy at the University of Sheffield and I have been lucky enough to present some of my work at international conferences. I am also hoping to soon have one of my papers published! My long-term goal is to become a university lecturer of Philosophy.

As a postgraduate student, my hours are quite flexible and I am happy to accommodate tutoring sessions at most times. I am only able to offer online sessions, as I am recently dealing with some health concerns that impact my mobility - but not my mind or passion for literature! I am also neurodivergent (diagnosed ADHD, diagnosed dyslexia and suspected autism) and have attended various seminars on working with SEND students, so I particularly welcome students who have disabilities and/or neurodivergence and are looking for someone who understands the challenges that come along with this.

My tutoring style is flexible and focuses on the needs and preferences of individual students. I am always more than happy to adjust my approach to tutoring based on the style of learning that students find most helpful and encourage students to have an open dialogue with me about what they enjoy most or find helpful. Whilst tutoring is often focused on achieving high grades, I aim to support students beyond this and work towards their specific goals. Whether it is guidance on further education, support with homework, proof-reading written work, advice on essay writing, or help with understanding module content, I am more than happy to help!
