Requirements
You achieved a minimum of a grade A at A-level (or equivalent) in the subject you wish to tutor in or you have at least five years of teaching/tutoring experience. (We accept candidates who have taken A-levels in either maths, English language, English literature, biology, chemistry, or physics.)
You are familiar with the national curriculum in England (as this is where our clients are based).
You live in London if you would like to tutor in person.
You have a working camera, a stable internet connection, and a quiet space to tutor in if you would like to tutor online.
You’re able to commit to tutoring for a minimum of one academic year.
You have or are willing to obtain a DBS certificate.
You have the right to work in the UK on a self-employed basis by the start of your employment. Foreign students with a right to work 20 hours in the UK are generally not able to work as a self-employed contractor on that visa.
Application process
Our team will review your application and if we think you could be a good fit, we’ll invite you to interview.
Ahead of your interview, we’ll ask you to prepare a mock lesson plan that you’ll present during your interview. We’ll also ask you a range of situational and competency-based questions and find out more about your motivations, skills, and values.
If you pass this stage, then congratulations—you’re now a tutor at Shuhari Tuition! You’ll undergo our onboarding process before getting started with your first client.
