My teaching style is highly structured around each student’s individual needs. Every lesson begins with an introduction to foundational concepts, which gradually build toward more complex topics. This can help students rely on real understanding of a topic as opposed to just memorising steps and answers.
I also firmly believe in the value of practice. Throughout my experience as a student, I find that the most effective way to learn is by doing. This approach helps students build confidence in answering exam questions and completing assignments independently. I also provide homework and reference notes to give students additional support when they study on their own. While I can support students during my lessons, I would also like the students to be able to study independently as I believe it can build good habits when they go to university.
I enjoy teaching mathematics and science because they offer insights into nearly every aspect of daily life. While students sometimes see these subjects as abstract or distant, I aim to show them how deeply these concepts are woven into the world around us. I am also just generally passionate about teaching and education. I have volunteered for outreach programmes in my home country to support children in rural areas to ensure that they can continue their education till the very end. I strongly believe in the value of a quality education for everyone.
My strengths as a tutor lie in my patience and empathy. I believe that teaching is a two-way process as I can learn as much from my students as they do from me. I also value their feedback, as it allows me to continuously improve my lessons. Ultimately, I strive to create a collaborative learning environment where both the student and I work together to achieve the best results for their education.
