Christoforos Ioannidis

As a tutor, I bring over 10 years of experience teaching students across all levels—secondary, undergraduate, and postgraduate—in law, philosophy, English, academic writing, and critical thinking, as well as Greek. I hold a PhD in Law from King’s College London and have taught in universities across the UK, Europe, and Asia, including Cardiff Metropolitan University, Queen Mary University, Thailand’s finest academic institutions - Chulalongkorn University and Thammasat University-, as well as Central China Normal University and The University of Cyprus. I am also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and hold a CELTA (Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) qualification in English teaching.

My tutoring approach is interactive, student-focused, and fully tailored to each learner’s needs, interests, and goals. Whether I’m supporting a student with legal analysis, preparing them for exams, or helping with academic writing, I always work to create a space where they feel confident, supported, and intellectually challenged. I draw on key principles from educational theory, including constructive alignment, making sure that all my teaching tasks and homework are constructively aligned with the assessments, as well as scaffolding, providing support to my students as I teach new concepts and gradually reduce support until my students become independent learners and come to own their own learning, as I help them succeed.

What I enjoy most about tutoring is helping students grow in confidence and independence, as well as succeed in their exams and their future that lies ahead. I believe that the best learning happens when students feel empowered to ask questions, explore ideas, and make mistakes without fear. I encourage critical thinking, not just memorisation, and I guide students to develop not only their subject knowledge but also their academic voice and reasoning skills. My sessions often include discussion, practice tasks, real-life examples, and frequent feedback—so students always know where they stand and how to improve.

Patience, encouragement, and clarity are core to my teaching style. I have worked with learners of all backgrounds, including international students and those with different levels of academic experience. I understand how to adjust my communication style to match each learner’s level, pace, and preferred learning method. Whether you're looking to prepare for exams, improve your academic writing, or get ahead in your studies, I bring a wealth of experience, deep subject knowledge, and a commitment to helping you succeed.
